Разница между терминами governance и management.

Постаралась разобраться с разницей между терминами governance и management. Как я поняла, основная идея состоит в том, что governance - это "управление на высшем уровне", на уровне акционеров и совета директоров. Т.е. это не повседневное управление компанией (сбытом, закупками, бюджетом, отношениями с клиентами, стратегией и тд), а управление на уровне отношений руководства с акционерами.

В русском языке, к сожалению, пока также отсутствует единое название для ПО класса BPM. Возможно, это расплата за традиционные уловки маркетологов, "маркетоложество" которых, особенно в ИТ-среде, основано на обработке клиента англоязычной терминологией (отсюда "растут ноги" мутантов типа "ERP-система XX-Предприятие 108:0"). К сожалению, термин "корпоративное управление" в русском языке уже занят, и означает перевод английского выражения Corporate Governance , происходящего от глагола "править" (to govern). Сегодня "система корпоративного управления" - это вообще не управление компанией (сбытом, закупками, бюджетом, отношениями с клиентами, стратегией и тд), а система отношений менеджмента компании с акционерами, сотрудниками и окружающим миром, система правил игры для топ-менеджмента, устанавливаемая акционерами (в основном, через Совет директоров).

Since I first encountered the word informatization and its variations, I've been trying to think of a suitable, single English word that I can replace it with. Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be one. So I'm stuck with it. The closest I can get is a cloud of uninspiring, jargony-sounding two-word phrases such as "IT upgrading", "technology transformation", and such. I might as well mail journalists a syringe of morphine. In general, the better approach seems to be more fully realized phrases, such as the one I used in the second paragraph, above ("the modernization of China's IT infrastructure").

This word--and its variations--is one of the curses of doing technology-related PR work in China. Every technology or technology-related client that we have uses it regularly. "Informationalization" or "informatization" (there is no consensus on this) refers to the modernization of China's IT infrastructure, which is part of the National Agenda. The reason our clients cannot escape this word is that foreign companies (and, of course, successful Chinese ones) all have to be seen to support the National Agenda.

I can see informatization on Wikipedia. The article shows it to be used in a very specific academic context. More generally, informatization means: The adoption of information technology; computerization [OED].
